Marvin

The village of Marvin is located on the western side of Union county next to the Mecklenburg county and South Carolina borders. Although Marvin does govern itself, it is still within the 28173 Waxhaw zip code which can lead to some confusion when searching for a new home in this area.  As a local Realtor, I can ease the frustration of your home search by helping you narrow down the myriad of Waxhaw listings.

Marvin features many high-end, luxury properties in neighborhoods like Firethorne Country Club, Providence Downs, Innisbrook, and Kingsmead as well as sprawling estates located along roads like Bonds Grove Church Road.  Marvin Creek, Hunter Oaks, The Reserve, Cureton, Lawson,  Weddington Chase, and The Chimneys at Marvin are among the larger, well-known subdivisions in this area.

Residents of Marvin  are lured by the close proximity to Charlotte, the highly regarded schools, and the abundance of large, wooded home sites and new construction.  Marvin is predominantly residential but it has recently opened Marvin-Efird Park along New Town Rd.  The park’s amenities for village residents include a playground, walking trails, community garden, grassy fields, and a barn available to rent for social functions.  Marvin Ridge High School is highly regarded for its outstanding academics and sports programs and has an International Baccalaureate program available to a select few of Union county’s rising juniors each year. Marvin Ridge Middle School is conveniently located next door to the high school.  Marvin’s elementary schools include Sandy Ridge, Marvin, and Rea View.  Marvin Elementary is one of only two UCPS schools to offer a Mandarin Chinese Immersion program.
